The Elegy Project invites writers and artists to reflect on elegy and the art of mourning from any perspective. The texts we’ll gather here explore how elegy works, what it does, and test the limits of its capacity. These reflections will help us understand how elegiac art engages existential, political, ecological, theological, sexual, and other fundamental human questions. We believe that elegy intersects with every aspect of culture and society, and that meditations on elegy describe our shared struggle to make ethical, livable worlds.
